Discipleship: This subject introduces the students to the church’s call to discipleship. It includes an overview of the origin and Biblical foundations of discipleship and a study of how discipleship has been modified through history and led to a situation where much of today’s church culture regards discipleship as a good but optional practice. The students are challenged to confront a culturally influenced view of Christian life with Biblical principles of discipleship and are introduced to a number of tools and methods which facilitate effective discipleship. The subject concludes with an analysis of latest generational characteristics and encouragement to think ahead to how the church can prepare to effectively engage with people in the future.
