OUR COURSES

We offer two courses in Applied Theology

TRAINING FOR

SUCH A TIME

AS THIS

IBTC has re-designed it’s Christian vocational training courses to be fit for purpose in the society that we find ourselves in. IBTC has sharpened its study programme by developing two separate yet integrated six-month courses:

LEVEL 4 CERTIFICATE

IN APPLIED THEOLOGY

The Level 4 certificate in applied theology is a six-month introductory vocational course designed to help individuals serve more effectively in local church ministry and mission. The varied subjects and activities in this course provide a solid platform from which to explore personal strengths and weaknesses. It is designed to facilitate the discovery of specific gifts and practical ways of putting them to use.

LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA

IN APPLIED THEOLOGY

The Level 5 diploma in applied theology is a six-month course designed to enhance existing ministry skills to a trainee leadership level. If a student desires progression of their vocational calling and the development of their gifting to meet spiritual, social and humanitarian global needs, this course offers that opportunity. Students who have successfully completed the Level 4 course or who have completed IBTC recognised comparative training or who have existing proven experience in Christian ministry will be considered for this diploma course.

BRIDGING MINISTRY PLACEMENT

Both these courses are designed to be separate self-contained courses that can be completed within six months. Students who complete IBTC’s Level 4 certificate and want to proceed to enrol on the Level 5 diploma will be expected to complete a practical 5-6 weeks’ ministry placement during the autumn period between the courses. This will provide a practical ministry exposure that will form a bridge between the two courses. IBTC will be able to signpost students to effective ministry placement partners in Europe.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

The deadline for submitting the application for this course is 31st of August for students needing a visa and 10th of November for those not needing a visa. In November/December, before the course starts, there will be some inductions online.

IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF OUR COURSES

CREATIVE MINISTRY

The Creative Ministry module is an important element in our courses which develops an additional aspect of God’s calling.

This is the purpose of the Creative Ministry module which provides hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply biblical principles in practical and focused ways.

IBTI MISSION CHURCH

The IBTI mission church serves as a platform for students’ vocational practice and training purposes. It provides an opportunity for God to work in a deeper way among the students, and every activity is an act of worship for Him.

OUTREACHES

While studying, the students also have many opportunities to form ministerial connections within the UK. Attending local church services, experiencing a church placement and engaging in outreaches are all vital aspects of our programme.
